Sophie Ellis Bextor

(b.1979) Famous daughter of ex-Blue Peter favourite Janet Ellis, Sophie was catapulted into the limelight in 2000 when she co-wrote and sang the catchy vocal for Spiller's 'Groovejet'. She's since gone on to establish herself as a solo artist.

Sophie fronted indie pop band, Theaudience which propelled her to fame (well, top 30 success) in 1997.

She famously beat Posh Spice to No. 1 in 2000 when she sang on Spiller's "Groovejet".

Sophie is a passionate anti-fur campaigner, working with PETA.

Sophie's favourite radio station is Heart FM and she also listens to Goldfrapp, Turin Brakes, The Streets, Human League and Prince.

Her favourite song is "Mickey" by Toni Basil.

She grew up in west London and at the age of four, had two imaginary friends.

Sophie is 'quite into manners' and likes shopping at Argos.
